• Just long enough and nominated just in time! The sourcing is excellent for the topic and the article looks very polished. 'Gameboy' is not a single — or at least according to Industry norms and Hybe

According to most industry norms, 'Gameboy' would not be labeled as a single. (1) It's not the lead/title track. (2) It wasn't released separately from the EP. (3) It got a very soft promo. (4) It got a music video, but it doesn't automatically make it a single. (5) It hasn't been highlighted significantly — 'Gnarly' and 'Gabriela' have been more in the spotlight.

The referenced source, stating that it is a single, uses it very loosely. The author doesn't reference any official statement that it is a single, which makes his expression more metaphorical, rather than literal.

What does Hybe, Geffen, or Katseye say? — The most obvious and direct sources would be their accounts. (1) On Spotify, it is not listed as a single, and was never released as a single. (2) On YouTube Music, it is not listed as a single, although it is accompanied by an M/V (as stated before, it doesn't automatically make it a single). (3) On Apple Music, it is not listed as a single, and was never released as a single.

Could it be a promotional single? — It partially fits the common criteria: (1) It had a promotional video (M/V in this case). (2) It got some highlights during the release of the EP.

However (3) It was never released separately (4) It has never been in the spotlight, and no major promotional campaign. (5) I haven't noticed any radio play push of the song (correct me if I'm wrong) (6) Hybe, Geffen, nor Katseye has labeled it as a single. Labeling it as a single is vague and uncertain.

Labeling it as a "single" would be a more unofficial term. Wikipedia is mostly about factually correct, so unofficial terms among official terms without proper referencing or citation would be discouraged in an official Wikipedia article.

Spotify, Apple Music etc don't tend to differentiate when a song is a single unless it has been released before the release of an album. See "Thunder" (Seventeen song) or "Standing Next to You" . Both were released alongside their albums released, so western streaming services don't have them as "singles", but Melon, the South Korean service that Hybe is well familiar with, does note them as singles (or titles). I'd say this plus the music video puts it squarely into what Hybe X Geffen were considers a single. orangesclub 🍊 00:28, 2 August 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for that clarification. I see now that 'Gameboy' is indeed marked as a title track, which does make it a single.

Critically, it wouldn't be considered. However, realistically, since artists or labels have the final authority, labeling the song as a single would indeed make it a single. XXExpertYTXx (talk) 00:35, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
