hello to every one. there is a template in this article that says this is part of a series on arabic culture. this should be change to template:islamic culture, because bazaar is for every muslim country. for persians, other iranians, turks, arabs, indians and even southeast european. thanks 89.40.242.213 (talk) 12:17, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've done my best to clean up the "terminology" section, which was all over the place (done across multiple edits here). This involved removing a lot of unsourced and irrelevant material. There's still some things that aren't sourced but seem relevant enough to keep or clarify for the future.
A reminder that Wikpedia is not a dictionary; articles are about topics, not words, so let's please not shovel mentions of every non-English word similar to "bazaar" or every English-language use of the word "bazaar" into the article. The article is about the traditional markets in West Asia and North Africa. Even that scope is a little loose, but we should keep material relevant to that topic only. That scope distinction makes sense. The terminology section in articles like this tends to accumulate tangential material over time, especially when multiple redirects feed into the same page. Keeping the focus on the institution itself (the physical market structure and its social role in West Asia and North Africa) seems more useful than cataloguing every related word or cognate. Worth noting that a well-placed hatnote might also help preempt some of that creep by pointing readers towards other related concepts. Has the terminology section stabilised since your edits, or are there still problem areas? Bohosquare1 (talk) 11:33, 24 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
