Someone made a link to a suspicious website
[edit]I accidentally clicked on the link http://www.allbookez.com/pdf/e1qdo/ on https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Bayesian_hierarchical_modeling&oldid=790833442 - the link was labelled as the second one linking supposedly to reference page for Andrew Gelman's Bayesian Data Analysis book. But the link, as one can see is some suspicious link.

Why?

Why? If we have urn with 2 red balls and 2 blue balls, after first drawing (red ball) urn contains 1 red ball and 2 blue, so probability of next red ball is 1/3, not 0. Jumpow (talk) 09:48, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
Uninterpretable Sentence

No offense intended to the writer, but I don't think anyone can hope to extract any meaning here unless they already know the rest of the topic. I hope someone will fix it up so it has a discernible meaning. For example "the assumed occurrence of a real-world event" means what? There exists an assumption by somebody that a particular real-world event occurred? "...will typically modify..." So now we have that an assumed occurrence, whatever that is, modifies something. What does it modify? "[P]references between certain options." This is now so vague as to be beyond interpretation.Chafe66 (talk) 20:41, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

Introduction is Mostly Gibberish
[edit]The paragraphs of the introduction (there are three as I write this) are mostly gibberish. I came here trying to learn what the phrase "hierarchical inference" means, and got rantings about what "Bayesians" believe vs what "Frequentists" believe (whoever all those people are).
For example the sentence "This integration enables calculation of updated posterior over the (hyper)parameters, effectively updating prior beliefs in light of the observed data." --- no, that's just plain old Bayes' theorem, optionally marginalizing the posterior over some of its variables. "The sub-models combine to form the hierarchical model" --- what do these words mean?
Another one: "Hierarchical modeling, as its name implies, retains nested data structure, and is used when information is available at several different levels of observational units." I don't normally criticize grammar because not everyone speaks English natively and who really cares, but when grammatical errors cause the meaning to be confused then it becomes a problem. Is "nested data structure" a kind of thing I should know about, or should that be "structures" or "a nested"? What are "observational units" and how do they have "levels"?
