Minuteman Bikeway

[edit]

Based on this map, it looks like the trail follows the Narrow Gauge and Reformatory Branch Rail Trails through Bedford, but not the Minuteman Bikeway (though the three connect at Bedford Depot - see Lexington and West Cambridge Railroad for details and history). Can anyone confirm or refute? -- Beland (talk) 20:57, 17 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Having extensively mapped and explored the area, I can confirm there is a perfectly usable connection (and that's all the reference implied -- that the Bay Circuit connected to the Minuteman). Only minor work would be needed to formalize the link. Check out the Massachusetts GIS office layer of "bike trails", and http://www.pathfriends.org/ for some more details. You could readily connect from the Bay Circuit, via the Minuteman to the MBTA Red Line, or continue on to Downtown Boston via the Somerville Community Path. I've made the connection on foot and bicycle many times. BryceN (talk) 05:21, 23 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
