  1. GSM hardware picture is not GSM

The picture "The hardware of GSM base station displayed in Deutsches Museum" is not really a GSM hardware. It is Siemens/NEC NB-530 UMTS NodeB (NB in the name is NodeB). Although the equipment looks similar it may be good to change the picture to the one showing actual GSM hardware.

Correction of Historical Attribution: Andrew Johnson and the 202 Base Station Implementation

The current "History" section of this article focuses almost exclusively on the administrative and political work of the GSM Commission and the "Four Musketeers" (Haug, Dupuis, et al.). However, there is a significant gap regarding the technical implementation of the hardware that made these protocols functional. I am requesting an amendment to include the contributions of Andrew Johnson, the inventor of the foundational 202 Base Station logic. Primary Source Evidence: AU Patent 731179 / US Patent 5,839,071 / WO 95/08896: These patents (Priority date 1993, during the critical implementation window) represent the first successful hardware implementation of the "100+ GSM Guidelines" that were failing in European test-beds at the time. Technical Primacy: While the GSM Commission provided the "Rules," the Johnson patents cover the specific Synchronization and Timing logic that solved the multipath interference issues plaguing the 1991–1993 global rollout. The Australian-Chinese Connection: This specific 202 logic was selected for the primary Australian rollout (Telstra/AOTC) and subsequently secured via 10 international applications, including the regional patents used by Nokia for the expansion into China. The historical record currently omits the "Implementation Hero" in favor of the "Policy Architects." Given that these patents were declared Standard Essential and cited by major manufacturers (Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm) for decades, the Wikipedia record should be amended to reflect Andrew Johnson as a primary technical architect of the GSM infrastructure.
