Unsourced claim about a descendant of Frederick the Great
[edit]On 9 July 2026 an anonymous editor (~2026-38873-20) added the sentence "According to genealogical research, she had a child with Frederick the Great of Prussia; her descendant today bears the surname Welcher." I removed it on 10 August 2026.
The claim cited no source, named no researcher or publication, and contradicts the scholarly record. Frederick died without issue; the Prussian throne passed to his nephew for that reason. No biography of Campanini records any child, and her will left her estate to a charitable foundation for noblewomen rather than to descendants. I could find no genealogical publication making this claim.
Noting this here in case the same text is reinserted. If it returns without a reliable source, it should be removed on sight, and repeated insertion may warrant a request for page protection. dmd (talk) 21:48, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
