Pick numbers consultation

As part of the modernisation of the article with a goal of achieving featured article status, I am consulting on the future of Pick Numbers. I am proposing to remove them because they have not been updated since the collapse of Krause Publications, in 2019. This will not affect the use of the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money for basic verification, although references to past editions will be migrated to the 20th edition, which is the latest edition I have on hand. I also wish to consult on whether we should expand the use of the Banknote Book, which is currently being trialled here. See also: Talk:Zimbabwean dollar § Rewrite needed. On addition of banknotes since 2016 here

I say we add details on all banknotes of Zimbabwe and not just till 2016 as the name says. We could let both articles have the same section (this article and the one with the details on the banknotes after 2016 here).

This change would help users by helping to include all necessary details especially because Zimbabwe's currency is very popular and sought after by avid and amateur collectors alike. This edit would assist categorization and efficiency.

We could continue this by taking it a step further by adding information about ZiG. Though this could be done after the previous change you just read. Hoping to move along with this proposal but I'm open to any suggestion. KJDKottayam (talk) 12:34, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

@KJDKottayam: I was thinking about adding all the details about the Zimbabwean banknotes here: then in each currency's article, summarise the banknotes issued with a {{main}} hatnote on top of the relevant section. --Minoa (talk) 10:15, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

@Minoa, I'm sure the column for date of printing of the ZiG notes is unnecessary. I propose we remove that column.

On addition of new currency in infobox

On removal on information on coins
