big update
[edit]I have made many major updates to this page. I have added more information to the lead section and the locations section. I also added an updated consonant chart to replace the outdated on in the phonology section, as well as added a syllable section and added information to the tone section. sources/citation problem
[edit]The citations did not integrate properly when I added content and more citations to this page. I tried to fix this by deleting and redoing all the citations and the reference list. The citations look fine when you look at this page in edit mode (notice that the first citation is a number 1). However, on the actual page the first citation is a number 3 and there is an error message in the reference list I don't know how to fix this. Angelapaoletta (talk) 15:11, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

Glossing errors
[edit]I'm not sure what "PFV1" and "PFV2" glossings mean in the Bangime language#Focalization section. Can someone help? I want to fix those errors. MonX94 (talk) 03:37, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
The lead section is self-contradicting
[edit]Bangime (/ˌbæŋɡiˈmeɪ/; bàŋɡí–mɛ̀, or, in full, Bàŋgɛ́rí-mɛ̀) is a language isolate spoken by 3,500 ethnic Dogon in seven villages in southern Mali, who call themselves the bàŋɡá–ndɛ̀ ("hidden people").
Bangande is the name of the ethnicity of this community. The Bangande consider themselves to be Dogon, but other Dogon people insist they are not.

- Well, there are several ethnicities within the Dogon ensemble; Bangande is one of them. They are not mutually exclusive. -- Womtelo (talk) 22:19, 13 May 2026 (UTC).
- I get that Bangande ppl consider themselves Dogon, but other Dogon people insist that Bangande are not. However, saying "ethnic Dogon" in one sentence then say "Bangande is the name of..." in the very next can lead to confusion. Do you have any idea to make this relation clearer?
