[edit]I've added a section to list where this shows up in pop culture, which I'm sure is not exhaustive, but could stand to grow. --Jrishel (talk) 17:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- And over 15 years later, no growth, still none of it is sourced, and—aside from the films—not noteworthy. The article needs to follow through on the claims made in the lede, be much less concerned about appearances in pop culture, and more interested in the legacy of the design. Was it improved over time, and how? Did it influence other furniture designs or design in general? What changes had to be made to enable mass production? Was it popular initially, and how did its popularity change over time? Was it commercially successful? Is it still? NONE of this information appears in the article. Frankly, whether it became one of multibillions of real-world things to be depicted in a Japanese comic book or appeared on an album by a short-term recording artist of unspecified renown are things that don’t need to be included until we’ve reported on the subject itself. ~2026-27400-60 (talk) 20:18, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
