"Chrome boots"

[edit]

Baldin managed to coax the officer into exchanging it for his chrome boots.

-- What in the world are "chrome boots"?

Fascinating story. Sca (talk) 13:58, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article seems to be missing details on Baldin's later life. What, for example, was the date of his death? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.64.209.102 (talk) 16:00, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thanks and good question - the "chrome boots" are from the source listed, in English, so I wondered what they were exactly too :) I assumed they were army boots with chrome fittings, but just took the phrase as is because they didn't elaborate either. As for Baldin's life details, it would be more appropriate to have that in a separate biographic article on him, with birthdate, place, etc, rather than in this article. -- Ultracobalt  (talk) 21:51, 12 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

mistake about "The Cypresses...."

[edit]

The painting "The Cypresses on a Starry Night" isn't in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York? What the Soviets took were drawings and sketches. ~2026-24967-13 (talk) 21:52, 23 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
