Should mention that the category of rings is not balanced

In general we have isomorphism => bimorphism (mono+epi) => bijective morphism. The category Top is not balanced because the converse of the first arrow does not hold, while Ring is not balanced due to the falsity of the second converse. In particular, an epimorphism between rings is not necessarily surjective: the inclusion $\mathbb {Z} \to \mathbb {Q}$ is mono and epi but clearly not surjective. 129.104.241.143 (talk) 14:41, 18 November 2024 (UTC)
