Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 30 December 2023

[edit]

I request that in the country section Russia be added as(De facto) while Ukraine is put as (De jure) LegendaryChristopher (talk) 01:14, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit extended-protected}} template. Deltaspace42 (talkcontribs) 19:03, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Institute of War Studies Map showing assessed Russian control far exceeds the boundries of Bakhmut city. Ergo, Russia has de facto control of the city. GaiusCaligulaPP (talk) 11:52, 31 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Final sentence in lede

[edit]

This is an edit request. Please change the final sentence in the lede from:

"The city was largely destroyed, with most of its population having fled, and what remained being placed under Russian occupation."

To:

"The city was largely destroyed, with most of its population having fled, and what remained was placed under Russian occupation.

This is in the interest of clarifying the grammar. JohnR1Roberts (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Alternatively, "The city was largely destroyed, with most of its population having fled. Those who remained were placed under Russian occupation." JohnR1Roberts (talk) 13:54, 26 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Why is there resistance to this article being updated?

[edit]

As of the 31st of October 2025, it is beyond all possible dispute that Russia is in full control of the city of Bakhmut. It would seem wikipedia is indeed guilty of certain bias, and in this case preferring this article to be memory holed. Propaganda or falsehood by omission must not be allowed here, particularly when this website asks for donations championing itself as a source of fact. Would any editor with a grain of intellectual decency care to unlock this thread for appropriate updates? GaiusCaligulaPP (talk) 11:40, 31 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

@GaiusCaligulaPP I do not believe there is any resistance to the article being updated. It has been locked to a certain editor level to avoid constant disruptive editing. Until you reach this level, you are welcome to propose any changes in the article backed up by WP:RS. Talk pages are not often monitored as extensively as main article spaces, so if you have not received any answer within a few days, you could try pinging a previously involved editor.
