I suggest a renaming to "Baculovirus gene transfer techniques" to eliminate some of the advertising tone. DGG ( talk ) 19:19, 19 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

The term BacMam has become a general use term in scientific literature to describe "baculovirus-mediated gene transfer to mammalian cells." There are at least two dozen PubMed citations that use the term BacMam to describe this technology and it is not a trademarked term. Therefore I would recommend staying with BacMam as the title of this page, but I am open to other suggestions/thoughts on the matter.Gthanson (talk) 00:20, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

On the evidence, I disagree. From pubmed: BacMam, 24 results. "Baculovirus gene transfer", 511. It seems to be advertising for a specific product only. DGG ( talk ) 01:09, 16 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually, "Baculovirus gene transfer" is not Bacmam. That would be a general term for all baculoviral applications, including those done to insect cells, which is probably the main application for baculoviruses. So your Pubmed hit comparison is not appropriate here. And as others have said it, BacMam has become the scientific term for this application. Enozkan (talk) 18:52, 1 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

I am a scientist, and confirm the fact that BacMam has become a commonly used term. It is found in books and articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 161.76.115.93 (talk) 11:52, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
