Secondary luminosity

[edit]
  • Vogt and Breysacher (1980): "If we assume that a late G-type main-sequence star contributes half of the total luminosity in the V band of BV Cen," (section IV, b)
  • Gilliland (1982): "A lower limit to the mass transfer rate may be set by assuming: (1) that the secondary contributes half of the light in the visual (VB; this work);" (section IV, c); "Assuming 0.4 mag full amplitude ellipsoidal variations in the secondary, which is further assumed to contribute half of the system light," (section V, a)
  • Menzies et al. (1986): "Distributing the brightness equally between the secondary and primary of BV Cen (Vogt and Breysacher, 1980; Gilliland 1982)" (section 6)
