Timeline?

[edit]

I want to get consensus before I put the work into this. Should this variant have a timeline? kencf0618 (talk) 13:17, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Kencf0618: I don't see why not. There's currently a prose description equivalent to a timeline, but something graphic would be nicer, if that's what you're thinking. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 13:20, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Upon reflection, Pirola deserves a timeline if and when it gets jacked up to a "Variant of Concern". kencf0618 (talk) 13:58, 4 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

JN.1 is dominant now

[edit]

As Wikipedia says, "Its descendant JN.1 (BA.2.86.1.1) became the dominating Lineage in Winter 2023/2024".

We could be more specific what Winter means here, when did it become dominant, and is it already 99% or 100% of detected variants, JN.1 and subvariants? So if one becomes infected NOW in September 2024 or October 2024, is it in 100% certainty a JN.1 subvariant?

Can we found speculative forecasts what will be dominant in Winter 2024/2025, and Spring 2025?

First discovered in Israel

[edit]

the first sample was discovered in Israel by a team of the israeli ministry of health led by a scientist from the health inteligence unit I know it as im that scientist. Here is the first report as i put it on Twitter/X https://x.com/shay_fleishon/status/1690684068642357248 The reason its on social media is that we believed it must be published right away. 89.138.128.101 (talk) 18:48, 7 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
