If the intro admits that Awilix is possibly a male, on what basis is it here assumed that the deity was female, and even a moon goddess? Wikipedia should present facts; and if instead, scholarly speculations are forwarded, these should at least be made recognizable as such.Retal (talk) 11:42, 14 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
Honestly not much at all points to a firm understanding of Awilix's gender. No primary source truly alludes to this and so much relies on both the "ix" particle of her name meaning "woman" in Classic Mayan and that Tojil (a god in her grouping) was a male fire/sun deity and using this as evidence to make Awilix a female moon deity.
