NPOV

[edit]

(Jan. 16)The Awana web site features a web page http://www.awana.org/about/default.aspx?id=826 "About Awana President/CEO Jack D. Eggar" listing the academic degrees earned by Awana Clubs International President and CEO Jack Eggar at --- according to other wiki pages on the subject of unaccredited institutions of higher learning List of unaccredited institutions of higher learning http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_unaccredited_institutions_of_higher_learning --- three unaccredited institutions of higher learning:

M.A. in Education, Louisiana Baptist University, Shreveport, Louisiana (1979) Louisiana Baptist University http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana_Baptist_University;

B.A. in Education, Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College, San Dimas, California (1975) Heartland Baptist Bible College http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Coast_Baptist_Bible_College;

B.A. in Theology, Baptist Bible College, Springfield, Missouri (1974) Baptist Bible College (Springfield, Missouri) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptist_Bible_College_-_Springfield%2C_Missouri

How is this information from both the Awana and wiki pages best presented in NPOV?

Nov4: Made changes to reflect NPOV, i.e. 3rd person instead of 1st person; added links

Feb2: Removed Scouting references. Although there are some similarities with scouting, e.g. being a youth organization, Awana is NOT associated with the Scouting movement.

These (education, schools, leadership, and questions addressing them) should be clearly addresed in the text, so that they are in context and can make sense to any casual reader. Listing them under "See also" does not accomplish this by any means. Dan, the CowMan 20:39, 16 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Approved Workmen Are Never Ashamed Of Their Salaries

[edit]

There seems to be a problem with some vandals removing information pertaining to the salaries for the executive officers at this 501(c)(3) public charity --- instead of removing this information, this information should be added to every tax year, so that we may all be good stewards of the money going into AWANA.

And someone might want to extract the Form 990 information about the printing contracts that went to an unnamed printer who is related to an unidentified board member...05:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

The Awana logo has now changed, but I do not know how to access a copy of the new logo to replace the one currently on the page. If anyone has the new logo (stylized orangish-yellow "Awana" with a blue swoop shape) on their computer, it should be used to replace the current one (yellow "Awana" with a black oval). (ps - sorry I am not using my user name, I forgot it) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.177.211.151 (talk) 07:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Partial copyvio

[edit]

Most of the middle body of the text is taken from portions of the Awana website wholesale...there's notability (enough to keep the article) and it's not a full copyvio, but it is there, thus the copypaste tagging. Raymie Humbert (local radar | current conditions) 01:27, 14 April 2010 (UTC)Reply
