Relevance/Notability?
[edit]This article says nothing, has very little substance, and seems to be promoting a very specific viewpoint without any contrary evidence. This is not a notable subject, and should probably be deleted. Joseph Zadeh (talk) 04:00, 6 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think it's actually pretty good. From the point of view of everyone except perhaps the people who use the vehicle, there's no upside. Hence the lack of contrary evidence. So in 17 years the car got 67mm longer, 119 mm wider, and 114 mm lower, and gained 27% in mass
You can do the same for the Golf. The reason that cars grow, especially in width is that one of the comparator cars for the new model is the old model, and generally shoulder room is the easiest way of making a car more comfortable. So cars get wider. Greglocock (talk) 23:09, 3 July 2026 (UTC)
- True. There were also the huge Cadillac land yachts in the 1960s and 1970s. But when the Cortina got larger, Ford also introduced the smaller Escort to fill the Cortina's original place in the lineup. The difference now seems to be that each new generation gets bigger but no small models are added. Stepho talk 02:34, 4 July 2026 (UTC)
