Diatonic interval?
[edit]As the article stands, a reader would come away from it with the assurance that the augmented sixth is a diatonic interval. (Read, checking for occurrences of the word diatonic.) Is this a good idea? In one sense the interval is diatonic, but in other senses it is not (see Diatonic and chromatic). Perhaps this needs some work.

"In classical music from Western culture"
[edit]This seems like a rather wordy way of starting the article. Is there something wrong with merely "in music"? 'Augmented sixth' as a concept does not just feature in classical music and the mention of 'from Western culture' seems a bit strange. Would anyone be opposed to my changing it to just "In music, an augmented sixth is..."? It's not like the (English language) term 'augmented sixth' means something different in other musical traditions, in the way that (for example) concepts like consonance and dissonance or scales do. 2404:4404:27E4:EE00:29A7:8A2E:7B2A:B916 (talk) 09:41, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
