So this is me following up on what I wrote previously on Talk:Phonophobia, noting the lack of any general article on sound tolerance issues and the difficulty people might have locating information about any given auditory hyperresponsiveness issue when they are trying to navigate a ton of different terms and concepts.
This is my attempt to create a sort of directory to some of the main terms, as well as a discussion on their historical evolution. I have not yet written the actual brief descriptions of the major terms/conditions though.
Once it is done, assuming it is approved, I would want to change some of the redirects which as I noted on the phonophobia talk page are currently somewhat disorganised and may send people to one specific sound tolerance condition when they might well be searching for something quite different (or generic!). I should also provide more info on why I am declaring a connection to the topic. I do research on sensory processing differences in neurodivergent people, including but not specific to auditory/sound tolerance issues.
