Tyap peopleAtyap – The page has been boldly moved from Atyap people to Atyap, and then to Tyap people. The WP:COMMONNAME appears to be "Atyap", see for example the references in the article. For "Tyap people", a Google Books search returns only 3 results, while "Atyap" returns many results. A mass noun like Navajo or Atyap is acceptable per WP:ETHNICGROUP, and "people" only needs to be added if there is need for disambiguation. Here there is none, since Atyap redirects here. Pinging @Kwamikagami @Kambai Akau. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 00:04, 25 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Thanks @Jähmefyysikko. The term "Atyap" is more more appropriate for the people/ethnicity and the country of the people, while the the term "Tyap" is reserved for the language only. This is the endonymic usage as well as the English official usage within Nigeria as explained in this discussion. Warm regards, Kambai Akau (talk) 13:01, 1 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
