Con colbert

Con colbert was an Irish Rebel in the 1916 rising who moved to Athea at the age of three years old he then later moved to Dublin.

The night before his execution he sent for Mrs. Ó Murchadha who was also being held prisoner. He told her he was "proud to die for such a cause. I will be passing away at the dawning of the day." Holding his bible, he told her he was leaving it to his sister. He handed her three buttons from his volunteer uniform, telling her "They left me nothing else," before asking her when she heard the volleys of shots in the morning for Éamonn Ceannt, Michael Mallin and himself would she say a Hail Mary for the souls of the departed. The soldier who was guarding the prisoner began crying according to Mrs. Ó Murchadha, and recorded him saying "If only we could die such deaths."[14] 51.199.72.169 (talk) 00:19, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

MOS:LAYOUT / WP:VER

In a series of recent edits (the clear WP:COPYVIO issues having been addressed), @Nephinlodge has added:

• Section headings to each individual plaque/statue in the village. Per my related edit summary, and the MOS:OVERSECTION guideline, it is possible to have too many sections. And each 20-word sentence (about a plaque or whatever) doesn't necessarily need its own section or sub-section.
• Section headings to each individual in the "notable people" section. Per my related edit summary, and the WP:CITSTRUCT#Notable_people norms (and the convention for every other "notable people" section in every other similar article), this section should be laid-out as a list.
• Uncited text. As per WP:VER and WP:BURDEN, text should be supported by verifiable/reliable sources. Uncited text may be removed.

Hi @~2025-42564-68. As of February 2026, the most recent revision to the Department of Education entry for Athea National School (15685T) was in mid-2025 ("Last updated on: 9 July 2025"). And this revision reflected an enrollment of 161 ("Enrolment Male 97 [..] Enrolment Female 64"). If there is a source which provides another date/number, then please provide it.
