• Comment, while it is called Atakora in the article, half the sources seem to use Atacora as that is what the Benin government uses. TwoNineNineOne (talk) 07:22, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

• Oppose per WP:COMMONNAME. There are no results for either name in Ngrams , but there are more results in Google Scholar for "Atacora Department" (385) than "Atakora Department" (69) .

To provide some additional context, the name of the department may have been changed. In 2015, the name of the department in ISO 3166-2:BJ was changed from "Atakora" to "Atacora". ("Kouffo Department" was also changed to Couffo Department.) This remains the official name. I'd guess this change is because the letter "k" is relatively rare in French.
