Needs attention
[edit]No-one but the Wikipedia describes exchanging letters in the mail as "asynchronous communication". The term has a specific meaning and ought not to be generalized beyond all usefulness by editors with more time on their hands than actual subject knowledge. *Every* communication requires some transmission time. I've revised the opening paragraph to resemble much earlier versions. Shouldn't this article just redirect to "asynchronous serial communication" which covers the same ground? --Wtshymanski 17:49, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- I agree. If you'll look closer on the matter, the term is used in 3 different specific meanings in IT (also the 4th you say is a wrong one). I've just edited Asynchrony in an attempt to clear the confusion. This specific article is now probably unneccessary. --Kubanczyk 10:28, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
