Weather box
[edit]I removed the weather box as it kept being vandalized. I believe it is better not to have data (I kept the references for those who are interested) than to have wrong data. Calimo (talk) 13:05, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
"with less than 1 mm (0 in) of average annual precipitation"
[edit]The climate data table reports 1.4 mm. Can't be both. Anyone have any idea which is accurate, if either? --47.32.20.133 (talk) 02:16, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
Island in the infobox
[edit]The third picture in the infobox features Philae island, not Elephantine. As I'm only passing by, I am not going to decide whether to replace the photo or to correct the info (incl. the link). 2001:7D0:8892:C080:1403:8511:77C2:E6D (talk) 21:47, 18 June 2023 (UTC)
- K, dropped by second time and decided to finally fix the link. The picture of the Philae complex no longer states that it is Elephantine island. 2001:BB8:2002:2300:3854:9CA9:A06F:3B0B (talk) 09:23, 24 July 2023 (UTC)

In Bible
[edit]@GordonGlottal: Excuse me, why did you revert my edit with comment "Source? not true"? Are you questioning the fact that the Septuagint has Συηνης? Or what? That Συηνη was Aswan? That the Septuagint translators knew what the Hebrew word referred to? That a Dead Sea scroll has סוניים? Please Ping me. Eric Kvaalen (talk) 05:36, 30 September 2023 (UTC)
Recent sock edits (possible LLM-assisted additions)
[edit]Heads-up: this article has been extensively modified by a sockpuppet account, إبراهيم جبر 1996 (SPI report), since December 2025. In addition to violating their ban, that editor been found to consistently introduce content with misleading citations that are unreliable and/or do not support the material for which they are cited, most likely with LLM assistance (see recent WP:ANI report here or at the ANI archive).
As a result, this article probably contains extensive content problems that need to be dealt with. I would do it myself, but I've already done a lot of this elsewhere (e.g. Cairo, Alexandria) and I don't have the time/energy to do it again here.
For what it's worth: I believe the bulk of the sock's contributions consists of completely new sections that could be simply deleted manually (or tagged if preferred) without too much trouble. Please compare the pre-December 2025 version with the current version (e.g. this diff), take note of the few substantive edits by other editors that happened in that period, and then have at it.
