Assimi Goïta → Assimi Goita – The article was disruptively moved without any consensus or discussion in 2020. Assimi Goita spells his surname without the French diacritic "ï", especially after Mali revoked French language's status in 2024. Assimi uses the spelling "Goita", not "Goïta" on his military uniform: 1, 2 etc. and also uses "Goita" his official X account. Pidgin Muivah (talk) 00:15, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Support I might go check out the Manual of Style to see what convention is on this sort of thing but that seems like a reasonable justification.
