The packaging of this film and most reviews of it would insist that Archie Savage is one of the stars of this film. As Savage portrayed a black spacecraft pilot, commander, and ultimately a hero, a highly unusual role for the time, this distinguishes this otherwise insignificant (perhaps dreadful) film as groundbreaking. I believe the original posters and other promotional material for the film alone should be sufficient to establish Savage as a co-star.Tomligon (talk) 00:42, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

April 2016 additions

Several of the sources added to this article seem to be sourced from fan sites, or have made the infobox try to explain information which it was not intended for (the composer section was particularly confusing. :)). I've removed unsourced information and tagged others which I don't feel pass WP:RS or WP:SPS standards. Why is this film's article under its original Italian title, but "Black Sunday"'s article is under its American release title? This article should be under "Assignment Outer Space", not "Space Men", no ?? Not consistent. ~2025-31278-73 (talk) 22:04, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Good question! Looking at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (films), it says to have films "Use the title more commonly recognized by English readers; normally this means the title under which it has been released in cinemas or on video in the English-speaking world." Per the prose in the article, it was released theatrically in the United States as Assignment: Outer Space. Various English-friendly home video titles seem to use this title as well: Alpha Video DVD, Mill Creek, Sinister Cinema DVD and I'm not seeing a much more use of Space-Men in comparison. I think you are right, the article should probably change its title to Assignment: Outer Space. Andrzejbanas (talk) 13:52, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Also why is "THE ELETRONIC MONSTER" listed under "Escapement"? And Cosmic Monsters" should not be listed under "The Strange World of Planet X "?? The titling is very inconsistent, no? ~2025-31278-73 (talk) 19:04, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Also "The Crawling Eye" is listed as "The Trollenberg Terror", which is also inconsistent? It was only known as "Crawling Eye" in the US. ~2025-31278-73 (talk) 19:12, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
