Planned article cleanup

I came to this article as part of an article-improvement project I have been working through. After reviewing the page, I think there are several areas that could use attention, particularly source verification, unsupported or weakly sourced statements, neutrality, duplicated material, and some sections that have accumulated too much detail over time.

I plan to work through the article one section at a time rather than making a large rewrite. My goal is to preserve useful existing material, verify claims against the cited sources, improve or replace weak references where possible, trim material that is outside the scope of the article, and simplify wording where needed.

I am posting this here before starting so other editors are aware of the cleanup and can raise any concerns about particular sections or sources. Garkeith (talk) 12:41, 31 August 2026 (UTC)
