Help Please!

I have started creating the article List of Indian film series. I need your help in adding the film series in Assamese language (if any). Since there might be a lot of them consisting of 2 films, my opinion is that only those film series with 3 or more films should be added (all of which have been released only). Please feel free to come and add more and do the required corrections. Once fully created, this list will be highly informative. Reliable sources

I cited the following sources according to WP:ICTFSOURCES; These covers the box office nos. of 7 movies; Roi Roi Binale, Bidurbhai, Bhaimon Da, Ratnakar, Rudra, Kanchanjangha and Mission China. Now, the random user reverted these constructive edits and added sources like sacnilk, Pinkvilla (with CS1 error), IMDb, The Print. All these clearly violates WP:ICTFSOURCES. Now, along with the seven movies I mentioned and another movie Sri Raghupati which was previously cited with reliable sources, in total these 8 movies only have reliable sources for box office figures, rest 27 movies listed are either cited with unreliable sources or no sources. But currently those 7 movies mentioned by me are also cited with unreliable sources including one CS1 error, as the page protection came just after that random user reverted the constructive edit. So the 8 movies are the only ones which can be listed here, rest 27 must be deleted for now and can be mentioned later when reliable sources are available for those movies. Currently, no need to have a full list here according to WP:NSTATS, only reliable sources should be cited. Goswami21 (talk) 00:07, 11 January 2026 (UTC)

• Support: Good catch and bold proposal by Goswami21. I have personally reviewed the present references and agree with his source analysis. We should abide by WP:ICTFSOURCES and remove unsourced or poorly sourced material per WP:V and WP:BURDEN. While it's really unfortunate to trim the list from 35 to 8, but Wikipedia prioritizes accuracy over quantity. So, I suggest that the constructive edits for the 8 films be restored and the 27 unsourced films be moved to a "Table of unverified data" on the Talk Page, so that they can be re-added when ICTF approved sources are found for those films.   I think it would be better to follow a more uniform practice across all equivalent pages. Because, equivalent pages like List of highest-grossing Hindi films, List of highest-grossing Telugu films or List of highest-grossing Tamil films don't maintain a director and studio column. I request that the box office table for Assamese films be retained with appropriate attribution and wording. Assamese cinema does not have a centralized, independently audited box office tracking system; therefore, collections are generally reported by established regional newspapers and television news portals.

To comply with Wikipedia policy, these figures can be described as “reported” or “estimated” rather than treated as exact amounts. This approach is consistent with how box office data for other regional Indian film industries is handled. • Oppose: While it's really unfortunate that the list was reduced to less than one-third of its original size, but Wikipedia is not a repository for unverified data. (WP:NOTDATABASE) More often than not, regional portals publish figures without independent editing and proper editorial oversight. Labelling them as "estimated" or "reported" doesn't overcome the requirement for WP:RS and WP:GOLDENRULE. Allowing a WP:ICTF / WP:RSPSS non-compliant table risks Wikipedia becoming a promotional platform with unreliable information. What I will suggest is, if you feel that a source having box office figures for any one of the removed films, is reliable, then ask for the source's reliability status at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force. Assamese cinema is primarily covered by regional newspapers and Northeast-focused publications. For films such as Dr. Bezbarua 2 (2023) and Sikaar, while full-length national articles may be limited, multiple independent regional reports and trade estimates do exist. Clarification regarding box office figures

There are two sources for the film Sri Raghupati: and . Both sources are listed as reliable in WP:ICTFSOURCES. Now, the first one states an exact figure (13.81 cr), but the second one, though it doesn't give any exact figure, states it also enjoyed substantial box office success – close to Rs 15 crore. Now, @Pranjitkalita98: has recently updated the box office figure for this film to 15 cr using the second source. Now, I feel we should stick to 13.81 cr instead of 15 cr as the former is the exact one. @BhikhariInformer, Coderzombie, EarthDude, and ZDRX:, Thoughts on this? • Support: I would have opted for providing the box office as a range (13.81 — 15 crore) but that won't be appropriate since the second source mentions the box office to be "close to Rs 15 crore" and doesn't provide any exact figure. For many regional industries, often, these "annual box office analysis" sort of articles rounds off numbers for better psychological navigational benefit of the readers.
