Bodo is the State Associate Official Language
[edit]In Assam, Bodo is considered the State Associate Official Language (as per "The Assam Official Language (Amendment) Act, 2020"), as it applies to the "entire state". It allows Bodo to be used for official purposes across the entire state of Assam.[1][2][3] 27.131.214.245 (talk) 16:18, 9 November 2024 (UTC)

Etymology
[edit]Asaami (Plural - Asaamin) means farmer in Madheshi languages, ie Bhojpuri/Maithili/Awadhi. May be Assam is derived from this word ! Scyfie (talk) 19:16, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
Assam (1947 - 1963)
[edit]The wiki article on Assam (1947-1963) refers to the province as undivided and not as its official name. Even the about page on Assam government portal refers to the state in that period as "independent Assam" or just "Assam". Any other thoughts on this can be discussed here or else refrain from changing the before_was parameter in infobox. Regards, Sddarealone (talk) 06:39, 15 July 2026 (UTC)
