Change X "Ashley Bratcher is an American actress and anti-abortion activist." to Y "Ashley Bratcher is an American actress." There is no evidence of anti-abortion activism as an "occupation" for Ashley Bratcher. Her occupation is solely as an actress. Her personal opinions do not qualify her as an activist and it is not her occupation.

Change X "They have one child together, a son who was born when Ashley Bratcher was 19 years old." to Y ""They have one child together, a son." There is no source anywhere that cites the age of Ashley Bratcher or the age at which she gave birth to her son. AshBrat (talk) 18:49, 19 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: The information in the first sentence of the article states what the subject is notable for, which may or may not be the same as their occupation (see MOS:LEADBIO). Information in the cited sources do support this statement in my opinion, so I've left it in the lead sentence. I did remove it from the Occupation line of the infobox though, since I don't see any cited source that supports this as an occupation. I did complete your second request, as I don't see any cited sources supporting that information either. Thanks, ElHef (Meep?) 13:15, 20 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Ashley and her husband are currently fostering a 17 year old, named Jenna, with hopes to adopt her as their own. Brett555557 (talk) 14:28, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request to update lead section and photo

[edit]

Hello editors,

I’d like to request two small updates to improve accuracy and bring this article in line with Wikipedia’s Manual of Style for biographies.

1. Lead section

[edit]

The current lead reads: Ashley Bratcher is an actress who has starred in Christian films in the U.S. She portrayed anti-abortion activist Abby Johnson in the 2019 film Unplanned.

This wording is not consistent with the standard format for actors’ biographies (e.g., “X is an American actress who…”). It also narrowly defines her career as limited to “Christian films,” which is not accurate based on her broader filmography.

Proposed replacement:** Ashley Bratcher is an American actress, writer, and producer who is most recognizable for her roles in family-friendly and inspirational films. She first rose to prominence with her breakout performance in the box-office hit Unplanned (2019).

This phrasing is neutral, encyclopedic, and consistent with similar pages for actors. It reflects her broader career across independent and mainstream releases, and avoids narrowing her work to a single subgenre. Reliable sources confirming her occupation and career scope include:

2. Updated photo

[edit]

I’ve uploaded a new, freely licensed image to Wikimedia Commons here: (Direct link: )

Requesting that this replace the current infobox photo. The new image is more recent, properly licensed, and of higher quality.

Thank you for your time and help maintaining accuracy and consistency with Wikipedia’s style guidelines.
