Average length of a felony trial

The LAT obituary cited as authority for this statement is cut off before any mention of felony trials, but the statement that "he caused the average length of a felony trial to be cut from 130 to 51 days" is clearly wrong, as most felony trials require only days, not months. It is most likely a garbled reference to the average length of a felony prosecution, i.e. from indictment to disposition, either by plea bargain or jury verdict. Someone with access to the full obit or other independent sources can correct this if it turns out to be as wrong as it appears to be. RuthlessIrishman (talk) 05:30, 22 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
