Quotes section

[edit]

The quotes here need to be moved to Wikiquotes, but I'm not sure how to do it. Maybe somebody can do it before I learn how.--WilliamThweatt 02:28, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Wikiquote is not meant for such quotes! I see no reason to move them. --DelftUser 17:55, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
It's not? If not, that's news to me. Check out the Dale Gribble page and its history. Admins are constantly moving quotes from there to Wikiquote. This is just one example. There are plenty more.--WilliamThweatt 18:11, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
Why don't I check the wiki page of Wikiquote and see what it is all about:
the goal of the project is to produce collaboratively a vast reference of quotations from prominent people, books and proverbs, and to give details about them.
If you really want to move Arthur's quotes to Wikiquote go ahead, I won't stop you. --DelftUser 18:54, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I have no partucularly overwhelming desire to move the quotes, but I would like to see some consistency here on WP. If consensus considered it appropriate to move Dale Gribble's, Homer Simpson's, etc. quotes to wikiquote on numerous occassions (which, according to your definition quoted above, is admitedly ridiculous), it should be equally appropriate to move these. It really doesn't matter to me where they're located, though, but don't blame me for trying to maintain some semlance of consistency.--WilliamThweatt 19:25, 8 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
I had some time tonight and found that there is already a page on Wikiquote dedicated to King of Queens here: Wikiquote King of Queens. Also from the main page of Wikiquote: "Welcome to Wikiquote, a free online compendium of quotations from notable people and creative works in every language" (bold emphasis mine). I think these facts justify moving the quotes there.--WilliamThweatt 02:23, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
