Father's name?

Reading this article today I noticed he had as his full name "George Arthur Rowley Jnr" which would suggest his father was identically named - but in the article the name only appears as Mark. I question how genuine the son's designation is. Citeable information anyone?Cloptonson (talk) 19:45, 17 November 2018 (UTC)

The naming of the father as Mark is supported in a recently published biography of the Rowley brothers, The Forgotten Brothers by the late Ian Davidson, publisher Blue Army Publishing. This could be a mine of information to any user who is fortunate to acquire the book.Cloptonson (talk) 18:24, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Goals total - 433 or 434?

There appears to be a longstanding uncertainty about his total league goals stemming from his Fulham days. He definitely scored 19 league goals in 1948/49 but in 1949/50 all but one of the usual reliable sources credit him with just 7 league goals whereas other sources show 8. In this article the text says 7 goals in 49/50 yet the career stats say 8 so even here is a discrepancy

The Barry Hugman book says 26 Fulham goals, the England National Football Archive shows 26 (19 + 7) goals, the Breedon Fulham history shows 26 (19 + 7) goals and the Fulham match programmes from 1950 show 7 goals and from 1949 show 19 goals

The only "good" source showing 27 goals appears to be the Rothmans Football Yearbook (all editions, 1970 to date) which has always credited him with the higher figure. On the back of that most websites show 434 goals in total (and 27 for Fulham)
