"led it being chosen"

The article includes this quote:

In May 1829 the strategic location of Arthur Head led it being chosen by Captain Charles Fremantle RN as the site for his fortified beach camp

which appears to be missing the word "to" - as in "led to it being chosen". Could someone with access to the reference check the quote and either:

  • correct the quote, if the original was "led to it", or
  • insert " [sic]".
