I created this article and believe it more then passes the necessary criteria for verification of significance based on the citations I included. It still has significant room for improvement. For example, the list of awards is incomplete, as is the list of book publications I believe.

The most important contribution could be the inclusion of a photo of Dr. Getis. If anyone has the knowledge and motivation to bring one in to the article appropriately, that would be a major improvement. GeogSage ^{(⚔Chat?⚔)} 20:10, 2 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
