Use of present tense
[edit]In reading this article I was put off by the use of present tense. There's a scattering of past tense as well, but much of the article uses the present. I looked for style guidance within Wikipedia and found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Republic_of_Macedonia/Macedonian_Manual_of_Style "In historical articles, the past tense is strongly preferred. While history can be written in the present tense, the general audience of Wikipedia will usually expect the past tense on historical subjects and events. The present tense in English is only correctly used to describe past events in a work of fiction." Reformatting the text to past tense is not a small project, though it's one I would undertake if others think it's a good idea. But before doing so I thought I'd post here and see if there's support or otherwise for this notion. Citroënist (talk) 20:06, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Capital or lower case?

Evolution vs History?
[edit]A merge seems reasonable - t's certainly very odd to read first: "Searching for a solution: 1820–1851" - The arithmometers of this period were four-operation machines..." - with no mention of where these had come from. And only later, in "History" to find that covered. - Snori (talk) 07:34, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
