Gunboat info

[edit]

I appreciate the additional information about the various types of gunboats, but I feel that it's a bit too detailed. Is there any chance it could be summarized? I don't feel that details on dimensions, crew size and exact armament of naval vessels really belongs in an article about a military organization.

Also, Höglund can't really be used as a reference. It looks like he's done a fairly reliable job of summarizing some decent literature about the archipelago fleet, but we're talking about a self-published online text written by a layman. It's just not a reliable source.

I suppose so, thing is Swedish definitions of different ship types do not translate easily so they almost need to be defined somewhere. Another article perhaps?
Höglund may not be a scientific source and his site may also be unreliable source - on the other hand he does include adequate references to published works. It would be better to use information directly from the sources he lists instead of his site however. - Wanderer602 (talk) 05:59, 19 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
