Let's remove the tag about being too technical
[edit]I'd like to recommend removing the article tag about being too technical for a general audience. Although there is a lot of technical information, I think most people reading this article would want to know the details. 71.198.177.64 (talk) 03:21, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Let's be honest about the lack of citations
[edit]Practically all of the first part of this article is copied and pasted directly from another website. PatrickDunfordNZ (talk) 08:47, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- It was added in one edit in 2006 : I have removed the copied/pasted text. As the rest of the article does not appear to be an infringement of copyright, it is not eligible for speedy deletion, so I have removed the tag. --Snigbrook (talk) 09:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
Ownership
[edit]An edit to the Arahura article claimed that the Aratere is now owned by KiwiRail directly. According to the Maritime NZ website Aratere was leased back to Tranz Rail for 15 years. Assuming this started from the date of delivery, the least will run out in 2013, unless it's been cancelled or is to be extended. I can't find anything stating KiwiRail has bought out the lease. --LJ Holden 12:22, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

DEV Aratere → Aratere – Rationale per successful move request dated 11 August 2025 at Talk:Strait Feronia Quilt Phase (talk) 04:56, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support as per earlier discussion. Also, I have never before seen the prefix "DEV" anywhere. Tupsumato (talk) 09:45, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support. I have not seen any use of the DEV prefix in coverage of the vessel in common sources, so this move is appropriate._Marshelec (talk) 10:38, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
- Support. Prefix very rarely used in RS. And, in this case, no dab is required.(On WP only other use found is DEV Arahura, to which the same considerations should be applied.) - Davidships (talk) 13:09, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Now that Aratere is being scrapped, should we change 'is' to 'was'? Duncnbiscuit (talk) 05:08, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
