Drake

Was Francis Drake knighted on April 4? Was he knighted as soon as he stepped off the boat? -- Zoe

When I checked this fact I saw several references to him being knighted while still on his boat. The Queen wanted a portion of his loot that he stole from the Spanish so she was very motivated to "legitimize" Drake's actions by knighting him. This pissed Philip off something fierce. --mav

Second battle of the Somme in 1918 listed incorrectly?

Should this not list as "The First Battle of the Somme (1918)", considering the timeline states that it ended on April 4 1918? Grumpy Cat

Included on the births page, is this serious?! This is a tricky precedent, are we going to include the several hundred (if not thousands) of articled racehorses or prizewinning dogs. If they are notable enough to have a wikipedia page, they are notable enough to be listed here in my opinion. That's the rule used on the Deaths in 2014 and related pages. EvergreenFir (talk) 15:32, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

You are welcome to suggest it for deletion. Doubt it will go anywhere as it's quite a famous cat. Like any non-human page, it must be notable enough to have it's own article. EvergreenFir (talk) 16:54, 4 April 2014 (UTC)

Microsoft was founded on April 4, 1975 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
