Edit warring and using WP:SPS trlottte.com as a source

Thebrakeman2 (talk · contribs) is edit warring to include the death of Edwin Boston, supporting it by a flimsy WP:SPS, trlottle.com which is a Thomas the Tank Engine fan site, published by a middle-aged man in Bangkok. I've reverted once, and won't edit war over it, as has @Bruce1ee: but if other project members could weigh in, I'd appreciate it. Toddst1 (talk) 13:25, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

The Reverend Teddy Boston's most notable "thing", outside of his rectory railway was the caricatured depiction of him in Thomas and Friends, and he was a friend of the author of said series. Both are relevant to each other. Now, if you want to be like that, then fine, I'll guess I'll have to find a book or some other "reliable" source (fun fact: those don't exist). Thanks @Suonii180:. I couldn't find any other article either that uses it as a source, including the linked biography. If I did, I'd be at WP:RSN, but let's take Thebrakeman2 at his word that reliable sources don't exist for this person's death. Toddst1 (talk) 22:49, 29 March 2022 (UTC)

The death of the Rev. Teddy Boston of heart failure at Glenfield General Hospital was reported by the The Hinckley Times on Friday 1986-04-04, where it said "this week". The memorial plaque at the church where he was buried is specific that it was the 1st. His autobiography Font To Footplate was published posthumously and its review in volume 132 of Railway Magazine noted that it was tragic that he "died in April 1986" and "did not survive to see this entertaining autobiography published". The cover blurb for that autobiography explicitly says "Reverend E.R. 'Teddy' Boston died on 1st of April 1986 at the age of 61.". People aren't making up this date, and it is well documented. 2026 Artemis II Entry -- Perhaps Premature ??

With all due respect to the posting party, surely the 2026 line regarding the launch of the mission is very premature, as the launch is not scheduled to take place until 6:24 pm US Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday April 1st, some 11-and-a-half hours from the time this notice is currently being published. Not only has the actual launching not yet taken place, but no one can rightly know if the launch will successfully take place, or what may happen before during or after the time of launching.

Clarification on Roman emperor Diocletian appointment

On https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/April_1, there is an entry under Pre-1600 for 285 which notes: Roman emperor Diocletian names Maximian his co-emperor ("Augustus").

When I click on the Diocletian link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diocletian), it states that he "appointed fellow officer Maximian as Augustus, co-emperor, in 286."

When I click on Maximian link (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximian), it states that he "He was Caesar from 285 to 286, then Augustus from 286 to 305."

Both external references indicate that Maximian was named Augustus in 286. But, the April 1 entry shows 285 for the date.

Can those dates be reconciled? Was Maximain named by Diocletian as Augustus in 285 or 286? ~2026-20454-04 (talk) 21:36, 2 April 2026 (UTC)
