"Vicariate Apostolic" or "Apostolic vicariate"?

In the list of vicariates, should the names be "Vicariate Apostolic" or "Apostolic vicariate" of such-and-such? In the Philippines it is "the Apostolic Vicariate of..." Why is it different here? If we are to create internal links and articles shouldn't we be consistent? --Bruce Hall (talk) 03:25, 28 November 2011 (UTC)

inactive in italics

Should the statement that "inactive apostolic vicariates ... are in italics" be taken to mean that this list should include historical apostolic vicariates like that "of the District of London" or "of Newfoundland"?--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 02:09, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

Pro-vicariates

Historically, there have been circumscriptions that were designated as 'apostolic pro-vicariates', such as:

• Apostolic pro-vicariate of Mysore, India (1845)
• Apostolic pro-vicariate of Vizagapatnam, India (1845)
• Apostolic pro-vicariate of Coimbatore, India (1845)
• Apostolic pro-vicariate of Cooktown, Australia (1876)
• Apostolic pro-vicariate of Unyanyembe, Tanzania (1887)

Perhaps this article should say something about pro-vicariates too. The Discoverer (talk) 05:26, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Titular Sees?

With today's appointment to Camiri, it now appears that new Vicars Apostolic will not be named to titular sees. I have not been able to confirm a policy change. But this is the 2nd one this month with no titular see noted. --Dcheney (talk) 11:26, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
