Taxonomic uncertainty of the Apodanthaceae

I added a section on the taxonomic uncertainty of the Apodanthaceae, as previous studies have been contradictory - often with phylogenetic trees that had weak support. Despite the family being included in the Cucubrbitales in APG IV, it appears this may have been premature, and recent studies point to it being basal to the Malpighiales. Peter Stevens discusses this on the APG website[1]

As it's still listed under Cucurbitales in APG IV, I haven't changed that in the page's metadata at this stage.

I hope what I've written is okay, as my changes on Wikipedia up to now have been relatively minor and this is the first time I've written a section from scratch. WayneGWoods (talk) 10:59, 30 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
