Genocide

It is a fact that the Apache are the sufferers of ethnic cleansing and genocide. I know its not pretty but its true. This fact needs to be allowed to remain a centerpiece of the page, especially when speaking about their relations with the europeans. Thusly, it would be nice if people would refrain from removing this information, as said act is offensive and erasure of history. The erasure of history is key to continued genocide so you may choose to support it via continued historical erasure or not. But know that if you do, you are choosing to support cleansing of history in favor of white supremacy, something wikipedia does not stand for. Thank you. Tribes in Mexico?

How does the article begin by saying that the Apache remain in the U.S. and modern Mexico, and then afterwards list only U.S. tribes, as if the only tribes that exist are in the U.S., and not in Mexico?Jimhoward72 (talk) 00:45, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Maybe this should be moved further down to the space between "Undomesticated plants and other food sources" and "Crop cultivation", where another subheading on ethnobotany exists? Content was added about this organization that self-identifies as Native American tribes, Canneci Tinné Apache Tribe who incorporated in 2022; however, the group can't be used to cite itself and would require secondary, published material to demonstrate its connection to Apache people. Arrival in South West

The timeframe that Apaches arrived in the southwest 500-1000 years ago is a best guess based largely on carbon dating found tools, which is incomplete and notoriously difficult in desert environments. It also is in conflict with oral history, which proposes a much longer time frame. The article should be changed to reflect these nuances and remove the objective framing of the 500-1000 timeframe, which is only a most supported explanation, but not a proven explanation.

Categorization of Southern Athabaskan/Apachean peoples

I'm currently looking over the categorization of the Navajo and Apache peoples within Category:Athabaskan peoples and it sticks out to me that the six main Apache groups, Jicarilla, Lipan, Mescalero, Chiricahua, Plains, and Western Apache are categorized separately from the Navajo. While on first glance it makes sense given that these groups are all called Apache while the Navajo aren't, given that the Navajo language more closely related to Western and Mescalero–Chiricahua Apache than any of the three are to Jicarilla, Lipan, and Plains, I am not convinced there is sufficient evidence for such a bipartite split between the Apache and the Navajo, rather than a seven-way split between the Navajo, Plains Apache, Western Apache, Jicarilla, Lipan, Mescalero, and Chiricahua.
