Antonovych (name) → Antonovych – single meaning --Altenmann >talk 16:04, 30 June 2026 (UTC)Reply

No, longstanding usually means that there's nothing wrong with it. The retargeting of the primary redirect definitely should have been pointed out in the original nomination. 162 etc. (talk) 17:04, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, disagreed about longstanding. Antonovych was created 20 years ago, when Volodymyr Antonovych was the only Antonovych, and the redirect made sense then. Volodymyr Antonovych is not Madonna by popularity to "own" the name or surname. I am actively editing surname pages and routinely converting redirects from aeons ago into surname pages (and creating such redirects myself :-). --Altenmann >talk 17:11, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
Please provide such context in the nomination when sending articles to WP:RM. 162 etc. (talk) 19:13, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
OK. I see the point.--Altenmann >talk 19:31, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. Page views appear to support that there is no primary topic . (Though, I have had some trouble getting the page views tool to work normally – on some time ranges, it wrongly shows 0 views for some pages.) I thank 162 etc. for the helpful and plainly factual comment. Adumbrativus (talk) 03:14, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
