Edit request: update career after 2012 and add independent sources
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
Hello. Disclosure: I am the Executive Director of Countertechnique, the organisation founded by Anouk van Dijk, so I have a conflict of interest and am not editing the article myself. I'd be grateful if an uninvolved editor could review the following proposed changes. The article currently stops around 2012 and describes her Chunky Move appointment as current. All new material below is supported by independent, published sources (reviews, news reports, festival archives). Please change, shorten or reject anything that doesn't meet the guidelines.
1. Lead – update tense and role
Change:
- She was Artistic Director of Australian dance company Chunky Move and founder of Countertechnique.
To:
- She was artistic director of the Australian dance company Chunky Move from 2012 to 2019 and is the creator of the movement system Countertechnique.
2. Early career – add source and correct a small error
Change:
- Van Dijk gained an international breakthrough in 1999 with her work 'Nothing Hurts', a collaboration with Falk Richter. 'Nothing Hurts'. was selected for the Berliner Theatertreffen and toured Europe afterwards.
To:
- Van Dijk gained an international breakthrough in 1999 with Nothing Hurts, a collaboration with the German director Falk Richter, which was selected for the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2000[1] and was also presented at the Festival d'Avignon.[2] Their later collaborations include Trust (2009), produced with the Schaubühne Berlin.[2]
3. Add the Golden Swan (2012) – after the Lucas Hoving Prize sentence, add:
- In 2012 she received the Gouden Zwaan (Golden Swan), the career award of the Dutch association of theatre and concert hall directors (VSCD), presented by the Dutch Minister of Education, Culture and Science Jet Bussemaker.[3]
4. Replace the Chunky Move sentence with a short section
Replace:
- Van Dijk has been appointed artistic director of Chunky Move, succeeding Gideon Obarzanek, who founded the company in 1995.

5. Reference fixes
- Reference "Dance Techniques 2010": the editors' names are misspelled ("Dhiel I.") and the page range uses the Dutch word "Pagina". Suggested replacement:
{{cite book |editor-last1=Diehl |editor-first1=Ingo |editor-last2=Lampert |editor-first2=Friederike |title=Dance Techniques 2010 – Tanzplan Germany |publisher=Henschel |location=Leipzig |year=2011 |pages=58–89}} - Reference "Historisch overzicht winnaars VSCD-dansprijzen" is a dead link; it may need an archived copy or a {{dead link}} tag.
6. Maintenance tags Once the above is reviewed, could an uninvolved editor please reassess whether the existing maintenance tags (primary sources, more citations needed, inline citations, autobiography) still apply?
