During the 2018 World Rugby awards, Angus Gardner received the "World Rugby Referee of the Year" award. El Arbitraje de Angus Gardner, mas sus asistentes de campo, y el TMO Brett Cronan, en la tercera fecha del Nations Championship entre Los Pumas vs Inglaterra fue una verdadera vergüenza y deshonroso arbitraje internacional.
En los ultimos minutos del partido los Arbitros Anularon un Try de Bautista Delguy (Argentina) y no cobró, en la misma jugada, el Try Penal producto de dos acciones anteriores como los dos tackles altos al cuello provocados ppr dos jugadores Ingleses, el numero 23 Noah Caluori y el numero 13 Henry Slade, sobre el jugador Argentino Bautista Delguy
La decisión arbitral cambió el final del partido que impide la Justicia en este deporte internacional.
Con toda la tecnologia existente hoy y evidentes infracciones televisadas, el rugby internacional se ve manchado por este tipo de arbitrajes deficientes.
El Tribunal de Arbitraje Deportivo (TAS) deberia tomar acciones directas sobre estas falencias para que el deporte sea lo mas Justo posible.

The officiating by Angus Gardner, his assistant referees, and the TMO Brett Cronan, during the Nations Championship match between Los Pumas and England was truly shameful and a disgrace to international refereeing.
In the final minutes of the match, the officials disallowed a try by Bautista Delguy (Argentina) and failed to award a penalty try—despite the play involving two prior high tackles to the neck committed by English players Noah Caluori (No. 23) and Henry Slade (No. 13) against Delguy.
This officiating decision altered the outcome of the match, undermining fairness in this international sport.
Despite the technology available today and clear, televised infringements, international rugby is tarnished by such substandard officiating.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) should take direct action regarding these failings to ensure the sport is as fair as possible. ~2026-40466-45 (talk) 22:56, 18 July 2026 (UTC)
