[edit]I have a major complaint about the Greek names.
All of the ones listed are masculine! Not every Greek immigrant in the 19th and 20th century was male. There were plenty of Greek immigrant women as well (and no, not all of them were named Maria or Anna). I think some female anglicizations should be listed as well.
Plus, there were far more Italian immigrants to the US than Greek immigrants (due to Italy's much larger population). There should be some of those iisted to. Try to find both male and female anglicizations. (unsigned comment by User:108.27.236.6 at 2011-08-09T19:59:29)
I certainly agree that we should include more information on women and on many other ethnic groups. If you have reliable sources with additional information, please add it... that's what Wikipedia is all about! Thanks! --Macrakis (talk) 01:42, 10 August 2011 (UTC)
Italian surname Ruggiero
[edit]I added Ruggiero: Rogers. I came across this one while editing a BLP about the Governor of Florida, and a Google search shows that it was a common Anglicisation. Anythingyouwant (talk) 22:01, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
Major removal
[edit]Much of this article was either unsourced or was the product of original research. Subsections, lists, and examples deleted were only those without sourcing. If sourcing is presented, I'd encourage the creation of a separate list where we could move the examples given here. This article's scope is accomplished without listing every case; especially worrying were the many names listed for years with no verification. ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:16, 21 April 2023 (UTC)
