Talk:Ancylotela

not the only species in the genus??

This article from 1972 seems to imply a lot of taxa were declared synonymous with Ancylotela and new species were found in the United States - I'm not a taxonomist so I don't feel entirely comfortable editing the article or splitting it into a genus article and a species article - could anyone from Wikiproject Beetles help? User:Wilhelmina Will User:Daniel Mietchen User:Ds2320 (I don't know how to link the Wikiproject directly so I'm trying to summon y'all for clarification. Some additional data points:

• GBIF: Ancylotela is accepted, and A. oculata the only species
• Catalogue of Life Ancylotela is accepted, and A. oculata the only species
• Encyclopedia of Life: Ancylotela is recognized, and A. oculata the only species (A. angustinotum is "unresolved")

On this basis, I do not see the need to change the current setup here, though some more content would certainly be nice — I looked for openly licensed images but found none. -- Daniel Mietchen (talk) 22:30, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
