Marcocapelle and Johnpacklambert, I do not find this unilateral attempt to impose this new category as constructive. While it might be good to include more specific categories and even categories about the Ottoman Empire, it still should be reviewed in an individual basis. While Lozanchev lived in the Ottoman Empire, he also lived in the post-Ottoman period, which is why I think the previous category is more appropriate. This is a regional identity that is definitely relevant to the subject. There is nothing inappropriate in categorizing people based on their regional or ethnic identity. Lozanchev seems to have lived in Sofia from pretty much 1918 on. If he had remained in the area later than that he would belong in Category:Bulgarian people in Yugoslavia. Which is a category thst does not yet exist but is a legitimate Category. There is not a Macedonian State within Yugoslavia in any form until 1944, and not as a fully functioning government until 1945 the year Lozanchev died. It is not even clear what country Lozanchev was a national of in 1912-1918, but it seems he was close to basically being a Bulgarian National at that point. He might fit in Catrgory:Bulgarian people in Serbia but he would not be a good lone article in that category. I can see what I can find.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:12, 19 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
Regardless of where he lived, he still had that identity and still concerned himself with the region of Macedonia. I am not opposed to implementing the new category elsewhere. You can freely insert any new categories you deem fit. Also, your new category is probably more appropriate as a sub-category of Category:Bulgarians from the Ottoman Empire. Him being a Macedonian Bulgarian is sourced. I reverted all the replacement of the category in articles where it was sourced and a defining category (such as Todor Aleksandrov). There is no good reason to replace it. StephenMacky1 (talk) 15:42, 21 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
